Romeo has many half Arabian, Pinto & Jumping kids doing great in the show ring. We do not have much info on them.

So very few of us get to own any part of our dreams, without being rich or in debt for 20 years. I was lucky enough for a nice man to give me two Paint Horse Journals, knowing how I loved Paints and owned some Pintos. It was 1988 I was 14 years old. There were 2 of the most magnificent, correct stallions in both books, The Great Romeo Rascal & Huslers Ole Man. I told my daddy some day I will own one of those stallions. I started at 17 buying grand get to both stallions, in 1999 I bought an own daughter to Romeo, then in 2000 bought a perfect own son of Romeo & grandson of Huslers Ole Man from FL. 2001 I believe it was I ran across a ad for Romeo for sale right here in my state. Called my father inlaw being the great horseman he is, I wanted him to go with my husband & I to meet Romeo. He was everything a dream could be perfect bone, action everything, no man made flaws or defects. A horse to halter in the morning & go to work later in the day. Romeo had sad eyes from that visit, he was attacked & almost killed by another stallion. I said I'll buy him, now the hard part was coming up with all that money fast. Sold off my best mares, borrowed some & prayed a lot. I finally had all cash in hand loaded the trailer up and went and picked up my dream.

Next few weeks were trying, Romeo couldn't even stand the smell of my other stallion or he got ready to defend himself. Sad sight indeed as Romeo had been taken to horse expo's every year for people and children to play with him. We started getting emails & calls that Romeo was sterile, then a vet called who had tested him as sterile after his abcess, high fever ect from his attack. He was sold to me as a breeding stallion, not that it really mattered I would have kept him anyway. Called my vet, one of the best in the state, collected & tested Romeo at 16 he had excellent semen count & volume, tested excellent for shipping also. Whatever had happened with him I always believed the Lord fixed and wow did he go on to sire some amazing foals.

His last foal was in 2008, I wouldn't risk a heart attack. He would get excited for his blanket & hood didn't really like a stall, guess he had way too much of that in his life. No horse loved to ride like this guy, you had to give him a ride even if it was just 15 minutes. Made him happy & don't forget his butterscotch cookies and peppermint candy, then his carrot cake for his birthday. Romeo was to be 24 years old Jan, 2011, he almost made it too. 11-9-2010 my perfect guy had a stroke, twisted from the pain, he got up one time when we asked him legs so shaky, he had to lay back down. It was time for him to go home. He looked up at me I couldn't stop bawling but held his head as he went home. He is buried here with me and will forever leave a empty place in my soul, not just my heart. Romeo is loved more than most people I know. He was a great enough stallion Babcock Ranch owned one of his son's as a few other famous people. This is one of the stallions who should be in the Paint legends books. You will be forever loved Romeo, we will meet again in Heaven my best friend. So he was a happy spoiled rotten guy that got to do as he pleased. He still sweet talked his ladies and kissed them. All those title’s, awards took there toll on his bones & joints. Sometime in his life he'd had a cracked shoulder, during winter months he would have a little bute sometimes for the pain. His best horse friend was my miniature stallion, they stood by each other all the time. Horses too can love each other very much, his favorite mare Pokey Pony never left the lot beside him, her & Magic the little stallion were very depressed for about a week, just looking over into that empty pasture, which is still empty. Just haven’t had the heart to open it up. It is Feb-26 took that long for me to be able to sit down and do his pages. View his picture page for great shots.
